Great app. I'm impressed by how well it "just works". One feature I'd love to see is the ability to overlay satellite/air photos over your bathymetric maps. The portion of the app where you from the community has satellite imagery so it's a bit strange why you can't see this for your own surveys. All in all though, this is a great app and I'm happy with my purchase.

So far so good. Links right up. Had to update immediately but that's okay. I have the GPS model so I can pinpoint locations and every body of water is highlighted in the country when zoomed out. I viewed my location and a building that was torn down 2 years ago across from me was still up so the GPS isn't real time it's delayed by about 2 years lol. Other then that the app is real cool, shows fish location location depth, depth in general and water temp. This is what I want. Thanks Garmin.

The app had a pop up every 2 minutes, "Do you want to exit the app?". I probably hit that cancel button 100 times. Also, the app was constantly minimize itself (as when your toggling apps) and periodically it would force close. I've never experienced such an app and I'm quite surprised as I thought Garmin products were supposed to be quality. What was really frustrating was between all of this the sonar appeared to work great. I won't be taking it out on my kayak until major updates are made.

Works great for intended purposes. Mapped shoreline, and towed behind fishing boat while using trolling motor in quiet water along weed beds, drop offs, worked well. Loses one star because the contour maps generated by the GPS capable version cannot be viewed on other personal devices, only on the phone the map was recorded on. ing/sharing the map does not make it available to to other devices.

Quick draw is wrong or gps is off. I saw a feature on the map from the quickdraw community, I set up right on top of it on the map, and the bottom was a completely different depth and structure (~30ft off). Why? Would help with location of the feature if the bathymetric maps were overlayed on satellite imagery. Makes the maps completely useless if I can't trust them.

I bought this as a reasonably priced alternative to a Deeper. The Android app installed fine & once the fish finder was in water over 12", it connected to the phone fine. In use I found that the Striker Cast dropped signal repeatedly & would take a few seconds to re-connect, even though it was well within its working range. Other than this, it worked fine. However, 2 improvements would be useful. Displaying the GPS position would be good for bait boat use and longer by Garmin would help.

Very happy for the ease of use, results, mapping, considering the money spent. When I map an area it reminds me where to go to find holes and structure in following outings and seasons. Knowing how deep the fish are holding gives me an edge when presenting my bait. After that, it's just my fault for not getting the lure, bait, or technique right. I do catch more fish with this device in my tackle box.

Device seems solid and connects quickly but software is lacking features. It doesn't show gps accuracy other than a 5 bar signal strength and it's missing basic features like sonar history and a fish alarm. Why leave these out? Expected more from Garmin.
