I want to like this app more than I do, however, it's little things that prevent me from doing so. First off is GPS tracking. Most of the time, it doesn't know where I am. Permissions are enabled, and I've dug through app settings, but this is primarily a planning app on my phone. I look at a sister app it works with to find anchorages, sail with an iPhone themed app that actually tracks where I am (with a horrible UI), and check weather with two other iterations of apps. It's so close!

Stopped tracking position. The app shows my speed and direction but the location on screen does not update. The new psuedo 3D mode adds zero value. The UI is not intuitive and the app sets waypoints along the shoreline. I need to save locations, not routes. Many long-term local lakefront businesses are not in the database. On the plus side, when earlier versions worked, it could route me around the Lake of the Ozarks without manually setting waypoints.

I love the interface and easy to see navigation screen. It is pricey, but once you factor in the amount of data (weather, currents, tides, wind etc) built in, it is a pretty fair price....almost a bargain. Two complaints which prevent 5 stars at the moment. 1 - The GPS position seems slow to update. I often found myself over-correcting my heading because of this. 2 - trip plotting is not very intuitive. I generally have to set my destination multiple times before it accepts.

this app has the potential to be an excellent navigation aid at sea. planning a route that considers wind, tide, depth, and foul weather is ingenious! 4 stars because little bugs issues (Android pixel) * current location not tracked, when starting a planned route (workaround: start, stop, restart) * wind/ais information does not update once underway (even when Internet is available) * preview information not available when underway

I used to have the "Elite" subscription (just cancelled it). The app is very slow and clunky. The routing sometimes spins forever for no reason. I've been trying to offline charts for hours and it never completes. I tried ing : no response. I'm giving it 2 stars, because if app works, it's very nice. I hoped that the problems I saw those 2 years ago when I started subscription will be removed. It's still the same poor UX. A real pity that quality is such a low priority.

Meh... It's the best app I found but I resent the huge price increase to change screen color for night mode. That's kind of a "screw you" to their customers. Data is fair at best. And of course you have to use cell service so you can end up on the rocks real quick if not paying attention. Nothing can be done about that but it is very limiting.

I love the Savvy Navvy app! As a new boater, and new member of a boat club, I need the ability to see the depth, channel markers, tide, weather to include wind, in a portable platform. I use it mainly in the Intercoastal Coastal Waterway by West Palm Beach. Having the accuracy of the many elements needed, I am very pleased with the Savvy Navvy App. As a graduate to my own boat someday, I will import my routes, waypoints, etc. to a fixed instrument. For now, my android phone does just right. Thank you. Highly recommended!

I installed, setup a profile, and was then advised I would automatically be a paid subscriber if I didn't cancel within two weeks. It takes an affirmative action on my part to not get charged. I immediately uninstalled. Would have at least given it a try if it was a free trial that became inoperative at the end, requiring an affirmative act to become a subscriber. Let me know if this changes and I might consider giving it a shot. Until then, I'm staying with my Navionics subscription.
