BleKip is an app which can keep the device awake, showing a black screen on the display. It keeps the apps running and videos playing, while reducing the battery consumed by the screen.

Usefulness and core fuctionalities of this app:

(1) Keep the device awake, when needed:

When the device's screen is off, it goes to sleep mode. It transfers work to low-power U cores and reduce network capabilities. It can also stops background tasks anytime. This sleep mode can save the battery. But in some cases, we may need to keep the device awake for the critical tasks.
For example :
(a) While ing the large files which may fail if the device goes to sleep mode.
(b) While playing videos in the apps which can't continue playback if the screen is off.
(c) While performing U-demanding tasks, and while loading large critical content in the apps; which should not be stopped or slowed down when the screen goes off.

BleKip can help in such situations. BleKip keeps the display on and the device awake, while showing a black screen on display with lowest level of brightness.

(2) Save battery consumed by the screen:

When it is required to keep the screen on for long period of time, BleKip can help reduce the battery consumed by the screen.
(a) For OLED displays: OLED display does not consume battery while showing a full black screen.
(b) For non-OLED displays: Battery is saved by setting the the screen brightness to its lowest possible level.

(3) Prevents burn-in on OLED screen:

Displaying a static content on OLED screen for very-very long period of time, can cause permanent burn-in. When it is required to keep the screen on for long period of time in order to keep the device fully awake, BleKip can help preventing the burn-in on OLED screen. BleKip shows a full black screen on display, all the pixel are turned off. which prevents burn-in.

30/10/2024 Even though it is a very good app, I've to request two more features. 1. When we click the quick settings tile, a floating action button should appear. All the settings should be done from the app. When we click the action button screen should go black with the prior mentioned settings. 2. When the screen goes black touch functions should also become disabled. Updated: requesting the feature to disable touch screen and double tap volume button to turn on the screen.

As always from Krossbit, the app tries to improve on existing solutions. In this case, this is a clear improvement on how keep screen on app work. Update. After recent update, the app is even better. I can customize tts skip times in Chrome read aloud and it works even though it doesn't with the native player on Chrome 👍👍👍

Works as intended. The only needed feature would be to *instantly* turn the screen off from the notification tile instead of having more taps to do. And also the ability to customize the timeout when you tap the screen when turned off because I find it too long for me. These would be a nice addiction. Except that, it works as explained, you can view videos in youtube and turn the screen off without youtube ;)

perfectly does what it needs to, thank you. i rated 4 star because the animation when going out of the app is a bit glitchy for me, the card slides down but then after it's completely down, it pops up a bit and then flashes weirdly before dissappearing. also a good feature to have would be a custom time that you can type in for the exit after function.

There are two suggestions..... 1. After pressing shortcut tile we then need to turn it on,, but it would be time saving if we just tap on shortcurt tile and its on instantly... 2. Add Another feature which is screen will be alive but it won't turn black or go dim,, it will help many people who needs to see their screen for long time like writing/drawing something from phone screen.

POCO MIUI got rid of the same function in the side bar - So I installed this app and it works perfectly well. It turns off the screen but keeps the youtube video playing in the background. My suggestion would be to create a side bar(floating translucent button) on the screen, which appears only in the apps we give it permission. With this side bar or button we could instantly turn off the screen - now it a longer process.

It would have been much better if I could simply tap on the quick settings shortcut and the app would start. I don't know why there's a separate toggle switch which I have to turn on every time I want to turn on blank screen. Weird design choice! 🤷🏻‍♂️

It gets the job done but I'd prefer it if it completely dims the screen. I use a redmi phone, and it doesn't overlay on the sidebar. Also, I'd appreciate it if the wake up screen prompt won't show up only after a single tap—a gesture would be better.
