The NS app is the official planning application for the Dutch Railways.The app has the following features:

Great helpful app! The developer responded to my earlier review regarding how to change the text to English! "Please go to 'Meer', select 'Instellingen and select 'Taal'. There you can change the language setting of the app from Dutch to English." I did this and it works! You just need to press one of the menu items at the bottom to refresh the screen. I had already found it very helpful. Now I would give it 6 *.

I am unable to to the app, even though I can on the website. Also, the app lacks in-app registration, and registration through the website from mobile is a painful experience, and keeps switching back to Dutch. I was unable to accomplish my goal (ing a bike). It seems silly that you need to install a complicated phone app to take a bike on a train, and you can't simply add a bicycle tariff from a normal kiosk at the train station. Not tourist-friendly.

Thought I would give it a try despite all the bad reviews. Turns out, all the reviews are spot on. The way to change the language is absolutely idiotic! Whomever responded from the developer just needs to be fired. If I can't read Dutch I can't find how to switch the language. The route I was provided for my journey was twice as long as what Google maps provided. Not buying with this app. Will check it out when I get there. Really why don't you just hire the Swiss? Their app was awesome!

The removal of the Itineraries feature is a big miss! It was so useful to see my options on my daily commute. Saving journeys, as was the proposed alternative, is not nearly as good. It requires a lot of manual effort to put in all possible trajectories and it assumes I travel the same days and times each week, which the Itineraries feature beautifully updated automatically just by opening the overview. Why remove such a great feature... 😞 Tip: 9292 does still have this feature!

The app has downgraded in recent times. No ability to buy discount train tickets given a discount code/flex tickets with a subscription. ed in keeps timing out. No reason provided. Saved train stations not appearing at the top of the list. Why save a station location if is not listed at the top.

This app looks good in general, but in some cases it fails in delivering basic requirement - proper basic route information and related options. Wondering if graph theory is even utilised here... Are you also aware that engers can switch trains quite fast? A lot of potential useful routes are unfortunately not considered. Trips initially get saved but disappears afterwards.

Needs option to save by route without being tied to a specific day & time. Currently need to do a new search every time I want to go on a regular route to see the time options. Makes me use other apps.

The application gets worse with each update. For example, now it's impossible to choose "My current location" as a starting point. Also, if I select bike as a departure option, it still makes routes as if I'm walking. I have to switch to 9292 to get reasonable suggestions.
